Fusion Arts Exchange Program

This special edition of the "Call and Response" project is the result of an intensive four-day collaborative workshop. The video calls and responses were produced by students in the Fusion Arts Exchange Program [a new, State Department funded, international digital arts exchange program hosted at RISD]. The Fusion Arts Exchange Program brought together students from six countries, Argentina, Finland, Kenya, Jordan and the U.S. Unlike the two prior Call and Response dailogues, this one happened in an intensive, compressed period of time and with students who were living together while the project was conducted. Over the course of the four-day workshop, the students were asked to refrain from speaking to each other with words and to restrict their dialogue to the realm of audio/video exchange. The students produced an impressive amount of material, longer than most feature films, in two intensive days of production.
